Description:
In order to play any cards from your hand, or use abilities on cards in play, the costs must be paid.
Costs are written with a combination of 6 symbols: Snow, Moon, Flower, Lightning, Sun, and Star.
They represent the elements of the cards. Costs may include a couple of elements, or they may have none at all!
Paying Costs:
To pay for a cost, you discard cards from your hand.
Each card has an element and an EX value; that's what you use to pay for cards!
A card with the Flower element and EX of 2, will pay a total of 2 Flowers.
Two cards with the Flower element and EX of 1 each will pay the same.
So, to pay for a character that costs 2 Flowers, you could discard a Flower card with EX 2,
or two Flower cards with an EX of 1.
Sometimes, you'll have to discard more than one card to pay for something expensive.
If you do, any leftover elements are discarded; they can't be used to pay for another card or ability.
Try to be efficient!
Special Costs:
As a side note, the Star element is special.
Only Snow element can pay for Snow costs, like most elements.
However, any element can pay for Star costs!
Some costs are more specific than just a certain amount of element. Special Abilities
may require you to discard a card from your hand to use, for example. These extra
costs are written in blue.
Also, some costs are written as the number zero. They're free!!
All it means is that the effect isn't always active. You have to choose when to use it,
just like you choose when to play cards that actually cost something.
