1. Icons

(1) Ability type icons
Abilities trigger in one of 3 ways.
Automatic abilityThese happen after a specific event.
Activated abilityThis ability triggers when the player pays the cost.
Passive abilityThis effect is constantly active.
(2) Card direction icons
Character cards can be in one of 3 states while in play.
StandThe usual, upright position.
RestThe card is turned to the side.
ReverseThe card faces away from you.
(3) Card usage timing icons
(fist) Counter
When your opponent initiates a front attack, a card with this icon can reply in your opponent's counter step.
(4) Trigger icons
When you attack, during your trigger step, you can activate Triggers on your attacker. (?)
(black)Attacking characters get +1 soul this turn.
(black x2)Attacking characters get +2 soul this turn.
(wind)You may return an enemy to their owner's hand.
(gift)You may move the top card of your deck into your stock pile.
(door)You may move a character from your discard into your hand.
(book)You may draw a card.

2. Special notation

(1) Bracket meanings:
( )Notes in these brackets clarify card text.
[ ]These define a cost, usually for an ability.
「 」These encompass a card name.
《 》These describe a character attribute (such as "weapon").
『 』These enclose an ability.
(2) ○ Circled numbers:
The circled number is how many cards you must discard from your stock for the cost.
 ② means you discard 2. ⑨ means you lose the game.

3. Keywords

(1) アラーム Alarm
『アラーム』 triggers when this card is the top card of your Clock Zone.
This Continuous Ability refers to... particular timing... Automatic Ability desu desu.
(2) アンコール Uncall
『アンコール[(Cost)]』 is an Automatic Ability.
When this Chara would go to the Discard Zone from play, you may pay the cost.
If you do, the Chara stays in play, in Rest position.
(3) 応援 Support, cheer
『応援』 is a Passive Ability that activates when the Chara is in the Back Row.
Each Back Row Frame has 2 Front Row Frames beside it.
The effect applies to all Friend Charas in those two Frames.
(4) 絆 Tie, bond, bind
『絆/「(Card name)」[(Cost)]』 is an Automatic Ability.
You may pay the Cost as this Chara Card comes into play.
If you do, search your Discard Zone for the named card and put it in your hand.
(5) 助太刀 Help
『助太刀 (X) Level (Y) [(Cost)]』 is an Activated Ability.
Use it during the Counter Step of your Opponent's Attack Phase, when one of your Characters is engaged in a Front Attack.
Your current Level must be at least (Y), and this card must be in your Hand.
Pay the Cost and send this card to the Discard Zone.
Until end of turn, your battling Character gets Power +(X).
(6) 大活躍 Wildly active
『大活躍』 is a Continuous Ability, active when this Chara is in the Center Attack Frame and not Reversed.
When the Enemy attacks, this Chara can be used to declare a Front Attack. (ie. Block from anywhere)
(7) 集中 Concentration
『集中』 is, when the top card of your Draw Pile is sent to the Discard Pile, this Ability triggers.
If this is an Event card, you can use it; if this is a Chara card, you can use an Ability on it.

3. Automatic Discard Scenarios

(1) Characters with Power 0 or less go immediately to the Discard Zone.

(2) When a Chara is played to a Frame with a Chara already in it, the old Chara goes to the Discard Zone.
(2b) If 2 Characters are summoned to the same Frame at the same time, both go to the Discard Zone.

(3) In the Uncall Step of the Battle Phase, all Reversed Characters go to the Discard Zone one by one.

4. (Simultaneous occurence effect solution)

When two Automatic Abilities take effect at the same time, use the following rules.

(1) The effects are handled at the same time.

(2) The current turn's active player uses their effect.

(3) The other player uses their effect.

Q & A

(1) Can I play a Chara from my hand, if I already control another Chara with the exact same name?

Yes, you can.

(2) Can I play cards during my opponent's turn?

No, you can't.
However, you can play 1 card with the Counter Icon during an opponent's Front Attack, in their Counter Step.

(3) Can I use Activated Abilities during my opponent's turn?

No, you can't.
However, you can use 1 Ability if the Chara has the Counter Icon during an opponent's Front Attack, in their Counter Step.

(4) Can I use the "助太刀 Help" Ability twice?

No, you can't.
For each Counter Step, you may use at most 1 Card or Special Ability.

(5) Can I use the "助太刀 Help" Ability during my turn?

No, you can't.

(6) During a Front Attack, the Enemy Chara returns to the opponent's Hand by an effect. Does this become a Direct Attack?

No, it stays a Front Attack. Details desu desu.

(7) Can Characters in Rest Position block an opponent's attack?

There is no rule about blocking conditions in this game.

(8) There are multiple Characters in Reverse Position. Is there a restriction on Uncall?

During the Uncall step...

⑨ In my Clock Up Phase, my Level is 2, Clock is 6, with 1 card in my Draw Zone. If I play to my Clock Zone, what happens?
